Computer World Honors Gala 2009
For the third consecutive year, RCI Sound Systems was chosen to supply all technical production for the Computer World Honors Gala. The 2009 gala was held at the historic Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium.

RCI provided all audio, video, lighting, staging, décor, and rigging solutions for this annual event, which honors the world’s leading innovators in the fields of information technology and computer support. This year’s event posed unique challenges due to budget restrictions as a result of the weak national economy.

The event’s technical director, David Ballenger of RCI, worked with Computer World to produce a high-quality event, while not exceeding the specified budget. This was accomplished through careful and innovative planning. For example, to minimize costs, the standard rehearsal/setup day were not used. Instead, the entire event, from setup to completion, was produced in one day.

National Peace Officer’s Memorial Service
RCI was honored this year to once again be asked to provide sound support for the Annual National Peace Officer’s Memorial Service. Over 25,000 supporters descend on the greater Washington DC area in honor of National Police Week. The culmination of the week is a ceremony which takes place on the West Lawn of the US Capitol Building.

During this service, all fallen peace officers in the United States and its territories are honored with a special role call and a gift of recognition for the families. In this somber environment, it is crucial that every part of this program be heard perfectly by the thousands in attendance.
